his is like comparing apples and oranges – there is no speciality for Cosmetic Dentistry any general dentist can call himself a cosmetic dentist. An Orthodontist first had to practice as a general dentist for a time then return to university for a further period of 2-3 years to become an Orthodontist. The question of which pays more rather depends on where in the country you are working and the size of the clinic you own. I would say the Ortho probably takes home the larger paycheque as his overhead will be less than a general dentist.
